Redemption Ink

Funhouse Tattoo's second shop, across the street at 1440 Garnet Ave. Open since 2017, with its own resident artists and the guests who come through Pacific Beach.

The shop

Plan of Garnet Ave between Gresham St and Haines St: Funhouse Tattoo at 1453 Garnet Ave on the south side, Redemption Ink at 1440 Garnet Ave on the north side.

Across the street from Funhouse, with its own chairs and a guest spot

Redemption Ink opened in 2017 as the Funhouse Tattoo Guesthouse: a second shop where artists visiting San Diego could work beside the resident crew for a few weeks at a time. The name changed; the idea stayed.

Book an artist and we tell you which door. Walk in and you get whichever shop has a free chair, and on a busy day the front desk sends you across the street rather than making you wait for a chair here.

Formerly the Funhouse Tattoo Guesthouse. Funhouse Tattoo, the original shop, is directly across the street at 1453 Garnet Ave; the two share owners and this website, and several artists work at both.

Who tattoos at Redemption Ink, and the guest spot

Guest spots are short and book fast. When an artist is visiting, they appear on the artists page with their dates and a booking form. If you want a particular guest, send the form early; walk-ins with a guest depend on the day.

Questions people ask

Is Redemption Ink part of Funhouse Tattoo?

Yes. Same owners, a second address across Garnet Avenue, its own roster. It was called the Funhouse Tattoo Guesthouse when it opened in 2017.

Can I book either shop?

Book the artist, not the shop. We tell you which door when we confirm the date. Both take walk-ins every day.

Where do I park?

Garnet Avenue is 2-hour parking. For a session, use the free 12-hour parking a block over on Hornblend St, Felspar St, Haines St and Fanuel St.
